Club History
The St Croix Rockhound Club was formed in 1975.  It's mission statement is:  to bring
together rock and mineral enthusiasts on a regular basis through membership and
through pooling of individual knowledge, talents and skills to improve the lapidary
skills of participating members.

The club was formed in conjunction with the Stillwater Area School District 834 to
further community education.  The first meetings were held in the District offices.
The meetings were also held in the Stonebridge School in Stillwater prior to the
present location.

In 1982, the club had a rock display at the Midwest Federation of Mineralogical and
Geological Societies convention at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds, St Paul,
Minnesota.  They have had shows in River Falls, Wisconsin, Forest Lake, Minnesota,
Stillwater, Minnesota and Woodbuy, Minnesota.
